Lynne Huysamen reviews the following African Secret products for her blog ‘KABOUTJIE’:  https://kaboutjie.com/

Cuticle Oil, Lemon Tea Tree Hand Sanitiser Spray, Rooibos All-In-One Wash

A bit of background:

Kaboutjie is a family and parenting orientated blog written by Lynne Huysamen. Lynne is a married mom of two primary school children, living in Saldanha. She is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict with bipolar. She is passionate about parenting and sharing about mental health.

“I love the fact that African Secret is a South African business  founded by Stacey Jane Smith. I really feel that it is important for us moms and women to support each other in business. Women face so many challenges, especially when we head into the business world. In addition to the standard challenges, we have been faced with even more difficulties since the beginning of 2020 with the pandemic having a devastating impact on women.

Cuticle Oil

This is the product that surprised me the most out of all the products. I am so self conscious about my hands and fingers. My hands are not the prettiest, I would love to have long, straight fingers but my fingers are short, stubby and skew. On top of that I have been a nail biter since I was a young child.

Before the pandemic hit I had been doing quite well with not biting my nails too much but since it started I went backwards with all the progress I had made.

Since using this cuticle oil I have started to make some good progress with my mail biting problem. The combination of daily self-care and the amazing product has really helped me to mindful of my nails and to strengthen, repair and moisturise my nails and cuticles.

The cuticle oil is 100% natural, with sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, lavender essential oil and jojoba oil. It is so easy to apply with the rollerball.

I see that the cuticle oil available on the African Secret website is a new Marula Cuticle Oil with Marula seed oil and Rosehip seed oil, I’m sure it is also a fantastic product that does the job just as well if not better.

If your nails are not in the best shape then I highly recommend that you buy some of their cuticle oil.

Lemon Tea Tree Sanitiser Spray

The hand and surface sanitser is lovely, I keep it on my work desk at home to sanitise after dropping my kids at school when I start work. I sanitise my hands, laptop, desk and phone at the beginning of my work morning so I know that everything is safe.

I love the Lemon Tea Tree scent that keeps everything smelling fresh, as well as sanitary. It is non-sticky so lovely to use on my hands. For sanitizing my work area I spray it on a cloth then wipe down all the surfaces.

It is 70% alcohol and kills 99.9% of germs.

Rooibos All-In-One Wash

One of the first things I like to do with all creams, lotions, potions and washes is to smell them. The smell makes a big first impression on me before I use the product and this all in one wash smells amazing, so fresh and vibrant.

I love Rooibos products, as you will know if you read my review of the facial cleansing range that I use, and this also contains coconut oil which is another favourite ingredient I love.

This wash lathers up beautifully and leaves me feeling fresh, clean and smelling good. I love that my kids can use it too and I can wash them from head to toe using it which means I don’t have to get loads of different products. Since it is hypo-allergic it is suitable for sensitive skin and I am comfortable using it on my kids.

It is available in 500ml, 250ml and 100ml (perfect for traveling).

My Final Verdict For African Secret Products:

I’m totally in love with African Secret, their products are high quality and made from some of my favourite ingredients such as tea tree oil, lavender oil, rooibos and coconut oil.

The aromatherapy oils have been an absolute pleasure, offering exactly the right blends needed to ease my sleep problems, reduce stress levels and soothe pain.

I’ve taken a look at some of the other products available on the African Secret website and they look amazing, two of the things that really caught my eye were the PMS Relief Oil and the Energising Body Oil.

If you are a fan of natural remedies and essential oils do yourself a favour and head on over to have a look at their store.”
